03.21.09Our BioWho is Rodney Slate Photography? |
Photography to me is catching a moment which is passing and which is true
Jacques-Henri Lartigue Rodney Slate--and photography in particular--is my baby. Like most babies, it consumes most of my free time, disposable income and conversations. And like most babies, I love it so much I wouldnt have it any other way. I photograph each event with my daughter, Lindsey. Each of us have our own unique eye and visual style. The result is a lovely, full and organic narrative of your day. Above all, we approach our photography with honesty. We believe that photographing a wedding, the birth of a baby, a child playing outdoors or a senior as they are preparing for college allows us to document pivotal moments in life--days that are full of tiny but overwhelming moments. We work quietly and unobtrusively. In the end, our passion is to provide honest visual documentation of real life--a genuine depiction of your day. Thanks for finding us...we love hearing from you. So drop us an email--even if its just to say hi. Rodney |

03.20.09EngagementsNC Portrait Photography - Mark and Ashley |
I t was a great day for an engagement session. As Mark, Ashley, and I roamed the streets and alleys of downtown High Point looking for ideal places for photography we got the chance to know each other a little better. My first impression of Mark was that he was very quite. As it turned out he is actually quite talkative. A very interesting person who seems to know about a lot of different subjects. Ashley is a very warm and friendly person. They really are a great couple. I am really looking forward to their wedding at the beautiful Revolution Mill. |

03.11.09Children/FamiliesGreensboro Children's Photography - Drew and Macey |
W e have had the privilege of working with the Cornett family on several occasions. Their beautiful daughter Macey has been one of our favorites to photograph. They now have a new addition in their family and his name is Drew. I could gaze at little babies for hours. I wonder....how will their little eyes view the world? And their hands....will they be rough and scarred from athletics or physical labor or will they be soft and supple like the hands of a surgeon? Where will their feet take them? Will they work in a mission field or will their feet be the first to stand on a different planet? Could this little one be the one that finds a cure for a dreaded disease? Who could know what the future holds for this little life? As I look even deeper into this child's eyes another question enters my mind..... Am I doing all I can do to leave this world a better place for him? |

03.08.09PersonalMarch... A Time of Transition |
M arch has always been an exciting month. One morning you awaken to the sight of a fresh fallen snow and then, within a matter of days you are sitting outside on the deck in short sleeves listening to the sounds of spring. It's also a time of anticipation...... waiting for the wedding season to get into full swing so Karen and I can do the work we love best, documenting beautiful weddings in wonderful places. |
