Photo Contest - And the Winner Is.......

T
hanks to all that participated in the "You Name It" contest! We do have a winner but first, just let me say, I think we made it a little too easy this time, but that's okay; the next one will be a tough one!

And, the winner is...... drum roll......... Jen Jones. Congratulations Jen! The photo is a closeup of a swallowtail caterpillar. The grand prize is a Starbuck's gift card.

Below is a photo of the swallowtail caterpillar. Isn't he beautiful! (and really enjoyed eating the cilantro)

Stay tuned for our next photo contest. Remember, it is the third Thursday of each month.

Greensboro Children's Photography-Lucas

O
nce again, Karen and I had the privilege of working with the Toth family. Last year we photographed this beautiful family when Lucas was just an infant. My, how time flies!!! I have often thought one day things will take a slower pace but they never do. Once you have children the ride begins and it only gets faster. That's why I believe it is so important to enjoy your little ones while they are little......spend all the time you can just doing simple things that they enjoy, and don't forget to take lots of photos!!

This session we turned our focus to Lucas, a very happy one-year old with tons of curiosity and a very contagious laugh.

Photo Contest - You Name It!

Everybody likes a contest, right? Just for fun we thought we would hold a contest every third Thursday of the month so today is the first one.

The contest is called "You Name It". How does it work well here's the deal. We post an image on our blog and you "guess" what it is. Oh, but wait a minute, it won't be as easy as you think...... it may be a super closeup of a dragonfly wing, a watermelon seed, an iris of an eye, a juicy hamburger, a string on a hammock, etc.... it won't be easy!
Let us know what you guess it is in the comment session. The contest winner will be named on the following Monday. The winner will receive a grand prize. So what's the grand prize..... top secret..... a different one each month.
This should be lots of fun!

What is it...... you tell me?

NC Portrait Photography - Michael and Emily

S
ince the first day I met Michael and Emily I have been impressed by their commitment to each other and their family and their hearts for God. Michael is the senior pastor at Richfork Baptist Church and Emily has been called to be a stay at home mom and home schools their children. They have three beautiful children and are in the process of adopting a child from Africa. Michael is a wonderful pastor, spiritually mature way beyond his years. He is also a very talented singer with one of the best voices I have ever heard! Emily has a real heart for children and is so amazingly in tune with them. Together they make a Godly team....that has to keep the devil concerned!

Karen and I are happy to call them our friends and we are honored they asked us to shoot their 15th anniversary photos. If you would like to know more about this wonderful couple you may visit them at their blogs Michael Bowers or Emily Bowers.

Beach Photography ..... last pics (I promise)

I
t's Sunday afternoon and we are back from the beach. We had a great time.... it just went by much to quickly. You know what I mean....time at the beach or on any vacation goes by much faster than it does at home! I always look forward to vacation but it is always nice to return home afterwards. I miss some of my routine's like a bowl of cereal and Fox News in the morning, the courses I run and the familiar faces I see along the way, my friends and the recliner I sit in when my brother-in-law and I do some serious movie watching together. I miss my bed and honestly, I miss my work too! Speaking of which I have much to do this week. Lindsey and I are going to Georgetown on Monday to meet with a wedding planner. It's a 12 hour round trip but I am very excited about the possibilities. We have portrait sessions in Greensboro and Winston Salem, a couple of consultations and a wedding on Saturday.... lots of stuff this week but hey, that's what we want and that's what we love!
I have a few more photos I would like to share with you from our last day at the beach.
