Beckett ~ Sunday's Child

fter nine months of waiting patiently, Beckett made his earthly debut. Sunday morning at about 1:00 am Christy called to say she was ready. I raced to the car and drove to their house to stay with Bradyn while Christy and Nick left for the hospital. At 8:27 am we had a beautiful baby boy... six pounds, thirteen ounces, nineteen and three quarter inches of pure sweetness! Bradyn was so excited to meet his little brother, you could see it on his face as he held him close. I was told by someone with great experience that there would be enough room in my heart to love as many babies as the Lord provided. At one time I couldn't see how, but, it's true... remarkably true. Just one look, one touch, and it felt as if my heart left my chest and merged with Beckett's. I'm not so much looking forward to the day we can play ball or ride a bike, that day will be here soon enough. Right now I count it a blessing to hold him close and do whatever it takes to make him feel loved. And do you know what makes all this even more special? I have a beautiful wife that feels the same way!
