My Girls

L
indsey brings the girls over every Tuesday morning so she can have a little time to get a run in. This morning was so nice we spent the entire time outside. Layla has just learned to ride her bike without training wheels and Adalei loves playing with my phone. I love being covered with girls. We exchanged popsicles and candy for hugs and kisses, we all got a great deal!

Engagement Photography ~ Amanda & Dusty

I
'm sure you all have heard me say this before, but I'll just go ahead and say it again--Greenville, SC has to be one of my favorite cities to visit. I love the vibrancy of the city and the small, southern town feel. I love that there are tons of little nooks to tuck into and fall in love with. It was the perfect setting for Amanda and Dusty's engagement session.

Enjoy.....

NC Engagement Photography: Amy and Brandon

A
my walked through our door for a consultation several months ago. She was like a breath of fresh air--her smile was genuine and contagious. She laughed easily and didn't take herself too seriously. We were thrilled when she chose us to photograph her wedding day because we just knew that her personality would certainly weave itself throughout her wedding.

Last weekend we had the chance to spend some time with both Amy and her fiancee Brandon. It was a beautiful day to be wandering around the grounds of Graylyn Estate...and just look at Amy's smile! I'll bet you will catch yourself smiling right back at her!

The Song of Spring

T
here’s no better time for those of us who love nature than spring. I love to open the windows at night and smell the fresh air. Before the sun reveals it’s face and removes the morning chill, the songbirds begin their sweet love songs. There’s a Barred owl at the edge of the woods with little chicks, she calls each night “ who cooks for you, who cooks for you all.” The wild flowers burst forth from the ground reminding me that even in times of uncertainty, He's got the whole wide world in His hands!

Jackson Ryan and My Ole' Buddy

I
remember the first time Jerry and I ran together, he was thirty two and I was thirty five. Two young men in the prime of life... running the roads of Thomasville with our feet barely touching the ground. When you get a running buddy--a good running buddy--you talk about things you could never imagine. Jerry and I have had some amazing conversations over the years, and so I have gotten to know him very well. I know him as an amazing family man that loves his wife, children, and dog with devout dedication. He loves life and squeezes every ounce of it that’s possible. He’s the best ole’ buddy a man could have! I could tell you a thousand stories of encounters we’ve had over the years, but I’ll save that for another time.

One thing we often talked about when we were young (er) running the roads at a six minute a mile pace, was getting old. How would it be? Would we still be consistent with our runs, would we dare stop along the way and sit on the side of the road and eat a doughnut? We couldn’t imagine having grandchildren, heck our kids were just babies. I have news my friends...time waits for no one. The day has come when our pace has slowed, (just a little) and we would stop at every doughnut place along the way if either of us carried a dime.

Here is the big thing now... we both have grandbabies! I got a call from Bonnie (Jerry’s wife) saying that Laura was heading to the hospital a little early to have a c-section. I grabbed my camera and headed that way. At 12:52 a six pound, twenty inch bundle of potentiality named Jackson Ryan burst forth into this world ready to make a difference. His life will have it’s challenges just like everyone else's, but he has the best family he could hope for and love can overcome all. Who knows, maybe twenty years from now you’ll see him running down the road trying to keep up with two old geezers gliding effortlessly into the sunset.
