07.30.09PersonalNC Model Photography - Beth |
I met Beth at a photography exhibit we had recently and then again at the coffee shop where her mother Carol and my wife Karen hang out talking and knitting. Beth is an exceptionally sweet person with loads of personality and a huge heart for children.
I knew the moment I saw her that she would be great to photograph.....she has this kind of old-fashioned beauty, like a fairytale princess. As fate would have it the opportunity arose for me to do a session with Beth. We started the session at my house where Karen did Beth's makeup. (By the way, Karen is very good with makeup and anytime she does the makeup, the photos always turn out better.) We left out for the old house in the country for a few shots and then headed to town for the rest of the session. We spent a lot of time photographing Beth .....I think I pushed Beth and Karen to the brink of starvation.... I could have easily continued but was outnumbered! Beth, thanks for such a fun time....all the best to you! |

07.23.09Children/FamiliesNC Portrait Photography - Gray and Harrison |
G ray and Harrison are a couple of "real" boys, always laughing and picking with each other. Sam, their mother did a excellent job of standing back and allowing them to show their adorable personalities. I spent about thirty minutes with them and when the dust settled we came out with some great images!! |

07.21.09WeddingsGreensboro Wedding Photography-Daniel & Katy |
.........Photographing a wedding is a lot like being a parent. Stay with me now.....here's what I mean....
As a parent it is our responsibility to look at our children as individuals, each having their own unique personalities and needs. Some need a lot of guidance some are able to run on their own. We must be able to discern when it's time to step back and watch and when it is time to step in and guide. If we are overbearing we run the risk of damaging the unique personalities of the little ones of which we are entrusted. As our children are different, so are the weddings I shoot. With my style of photography, it is imperative that I allow each wedding to breathe it's own life and to develop it's own special personality. Without a doubt when this happens I achieve my best results. Now......... Daniel and Katy's wedding day was full of personality! There were moments of drama, moments of fun and laughter, and moments of tenderness and romance. The day was so perfect for an outdoor wedding..... beautiful day, beautiful location and a beautiful couple. As guests gathered in and around the lovely Grandover Resort we were busy taking photos of the bride, groom, the wedding party and family. Katy and Daniel made the decision to see each other before the ceremony...... by the way, it's a great idea. We were able to get ALL of their photos done before the ceremony with the exception of grandparents. It was a wonderful way to spend the evening doing the work I love most. Thank you Katy and Daniel and thank you family and friends! |
