Bradyn and Layla

A
fter a couple of very busy weeks Karen and I decided to take Monday off for a little r&r. We spent most of the day playing around with Bradyn and Layla. As most of you know, we love spending time with our babies. They say the most precious things and their personalities just continue to provide us with hours of quality entertainment. Bradyn is all boy... he loves super heroes, sports, video games, and climbing trees but he also likes stuffed animals, helping in the kitchen, and crafts. Layla is all girl.... she loves baby dolls, girlie clothes, stuffed animals, flowers and lotion but, she also likes holding earthworms, worm snakes, and just getting dirty. Later that afternoon we met my ole' running buddy Jerry, who is a pilot, and he took us for a plane ride. What a glorious day, another that will be etched in our memories forever!!!

Greensboro Wedding Photography/Revolution Mill

T
he construction and renovations at Revolution Mill Studios are just incredible! The site is the Old Cone Mill Textiles that has been transformed into one of the hottest venues in the Greensboro area for special events. Revolution Mill Studios is the epitome of 21st century economic development. If you have visited, be sure to check it out.

Lindsey and I had the pleasure, once again, of going to Revolution Mill Studios this past weekend. We were there to photograph Mark and Ashley's wedding. It was an early evening wedding and the light there was absolutely beautiful. The ceremony was simple, heartfelt and very lovely. We wish Mark and Ashley all the best and hope their lives together will be rich and rewarding.

Winston-Salem Children's Photography

I
really enjoy photographing children and capturing their little personalities. Their laughter and their energy is so contagious! I had the privilege of photographing the Urbanic children in Winston-Salem yesterday and the weather couldn't have been better. We ran, climbed, played in the sand, rolled in the grass, etc.... I think I enjoyed it as much as they did!

Computers, Friends, and Flowers

A
few years ago if someone were to say to me ...... "Rodney, soon you will be spending about 8 hours a day on a computer" I would have thought they were nuts. Things certainly do change and most often the changes are good. That's the case with the relationship between me and my computer. We spend a lot of "quality" time together and it is really hard to imagine life without my computer. I work my business on it, I do my shopping on it, and keep up with friends and trends. One thing that really amazes me is how the internet makes our world a little smaller.
Karen and I have met a wonderful and very talented young lady from France and have become good friends, even with the distance between us, via the internet. I have mentioned her before in a previous blog but I want to tell you about her again. Her blogsite is lamarquisedesanges and I encourage you to check out her blog; you will really enjoy your visit and, while you are visiting, leave her a message. I am sure she would love to hear from you. I bought from her a garden apron for Karen that was supposed to be a Mother's Day gift but Karen was so excited about it I let her open it early. Karen has worn the apron several times already, even if she steps outside to cut a few fresh flowers for the house.

Speaking of flowers.... all of Karen's stuff is really starting to bloom. There is one particular flower she is quite fond of; it is called "Agapanthus" and is an African Lily. She moved the plant last year and really thought she had lost it. They are a little particular and do not like to be moved. Karen shrieked with excitement when she saw the green peak through the mulch a couple of weeks ago. She checks on the lily daily, especially to make sure Beau, our golden retriever pup, hasn't "removed" the plant.

If you would like to find out more about the agapanthus plant shown in the photo below visit Karen's personal blog this, that and the other.

NC Wedding Photography - Lance & Beth

A
t 8:00 Saturday morning Lindsey and I pulled out of the driveway in route to Castle McCulloch to photograph the wedding of Lance and Beth. They were an amazing couple and an absolute joy to work with; sometimes I wonder what I have done to get such wonderful folks to photograph, another blessing among many.
As far as weddings go it was a relatively short affair but in that short time it was filled with many wonderful memories. The thing that I will remember most about Beth is that she is a hugger. She must have hugged everyone at least three times!! I've always been told that a hug is the perfect gift because for every one that you give away, you will always get one in return. Thanks to you, Lance and Beth, for allowing Autumn Song Photography to serve you on your most blessed day.
