11.22.10EngagementsGreensboro Engagement Session ~ Katherine and Nick |
E ngagement sessions provide such a wonderful opportunity for a couple and their photographer to get to know each other. I had a great time with Katherine and Nick on a beautiful fall afternoon, just hanging-out and listening to their story. |

11.15.10WeddingsNC Wedding Photography-Ali and Brennon |
W hen youre around weddings week in and week out, you start to notice how love seems to come in so many flavors. Weve shot weddings where love was passionate, where love was a logical choice, where love was funny...this weekend we shot a wedding where love just seemed so pure.
Ali and Brennon tied the knot this past Saturday. They seemed so young to me, but their love for each other was remarkably strong and true. As I watched Ali prepare to walk down the aisle, she was a bundle of nerves. She waited eagerly for the music to start...she peered through the wooden blinds hoping for a tiny glimpse of her soon-to-be at the front of the church. As he walked through the door, they made eye contact. Im sure all he could see was his brides eyes through the wooden slats...but watching her watching him...I could see the innocence and purity of their love for each other. In all honesty, it was probably one of the most beautiful things Ive seen. Now, if I can just get Young Love by the Judds out of my head....or maybe not. Maybe Ill just sit in it for a while. Maybe Ill love my husband today like were 19 again. Congratulations Ali and Brennon... LRB |
Just after the ceremony...probably one of my FAVORITE times to catch the bride and the groom...their emotions just seem so honest. That first moment where its just the two of them--no audience...and me :-) I think this is where the phrase "three's a crowd" must have started. |
Here are some from Ali's portrait session... |
And my sweet little red head, Layla. She couldn't resist Ali--I think she thought Ali was a real life princess. We still have days where I call her "Ali" and she dresses up like a bride (in a little flower girl dress that Ali and her mother so graciously gave her!) --drives her daddy crazy! |
Hahaha...dad has a habit of wanting to get "just one more shot"...I think he pushed Ali to her limit that day! |

11.09.10WeddingsNC Wedding Photography-Lindsay & Jeremy |
O ne of my favorite things about shooting a wedding is people watching. Ive always loved to watch people in places where they {think} no one is watching--airports, shopping malls, ball games. But, weddings are unique. They are full of busyness, yet they contain some of the most remarkable moments of intimacy--moments that seem to make time stand still. And in my mind--nothing beats catching those tiny intimate moments.
Lindsay and Jeremys day was a perfect example. In the hours leading up to the ceremony, Lindsay had her game face on. Intent on avoiding last minute stress, Lindsay and her amazing wedding planner (Sue with Bella Weddings--seriously--AHmazing) made sure every detail was attended to. BUT there was one sweet little surprise--a break in the details of the day. That break came the minute Lindsay took Jeremys hand at the front of High Point University's Hayworth Chapel. Her shoulders relaxed and she was beaming. I think every detail could have come undone and neither of them would have noticed. I couldnt help but smile at this thought....for the rest of her life, she is going to have the safety and security of Jeremys hands. What an awesome gift marriage is! Congratulations Jeremy and Lindsay. I hope you guys always have the safety and security of each others love. GAH--I love weddings! -LRB |

Sami at Just Priceless did Lindsay's flowers--she always has the most unique designs. I really look forward to seeing what she comes up with each time I hear she is doing the flowers at a wedding. Beautiful--as always, Sami! |
Manfred at Cakes by Manfred did this beautiful cake. His cakes always get the most remarkable reaction. I think most people are surprised that something that looks so beautiful tastes AMAZING. |

This kid knows what I mean...Manfred--you should totally hire him as a cake tester. He is serious about his cake! |
And what wedding would be complete without an air guitar solo to Journey's Don't Stop Believin'? Not a one. |

11.01.10SeniorsNC Senior Session ~ Ryan |
I 've seen Ryan around church for a few years now but never really had the chance to get to know him. I was happy when his mom and dad spoke to me about doing his senior photos. I always thought he would be fun to photograph because of his energy and expressiveness... two things I like in a person when I am photographing them. It was one of my better senior sessions. I'll tell you why, we didn't go all over the place looking for beautiful and unusual backgrounds, but rather spent more time capturing his personality. I shot mostly film which I think caused me to approach the photography differently. Most importantly, Ryan seemed to be entirely comfortable with the direction we were going. Ryan's an outstanding young man and I am so happy to have had the chance to get to know him better. |
