NC Photography - Mentoring Ashley

F
or the last three years I have been fortunate enough to mentor some of the local high school seniors. Photography seems to be a favorite subject for them and I am always delighted to share what I have learned over the coarse of my profession. Ashley is a brilliant young lady with a very bright future ahead of her. Her goal is to someday be the owner of her own spa. I feel certain that dream will come true for her. Ashley caught on very quickly to the technical aspects of photography and we were soon able to move on to the more creative things. She brought a little model with her and we spent the rest of the afternoon photographing her. You did an outstanding job Ashley and I wish you all the best. Remember to always keep a camera close by.

Charleston Wedding Photography

A
few little side notes before I mention the beautiful Thomas wedding. It has been a lot of work switching over to our new blogsite. It seems as though Karen and I have worked constantly on it for the past couple of weeks. I must say, although it has been a lot of work it's been a real pleasure mainly because of the business, technical, and personal relationship skills of Brock and Dave at Infinet Design. It's pretty easy to find someone with any one of these skills but to find someone with all of them is quite rare. Thank you guys for all of your efforts.

A couple of years ago on of my very best friends and I began talking about a way we could shoot weddings together and give our clients something special. We decided at that point we wouldn't force anything but we would gently nourish our dream and allow it to grow organically. I believe we are making great progress in making that dream a reality. Richard Israel is a very talented photographer with an amazing eye and super personality. He loves shooting with film and having close interaction with people. Together, I believe we make a nice package. But wait..... there is also another little goody inside of this package. Lindsey Broere from Black Daffodil Films has agreed to work with us shooting Super 8 film. I know this is a lot of information so if you have any questions just drop us an email and I will try to answer them for you.

Finally.... The Thomas wedding. Richard, Lindsey, and I shot this wedding in Charleston SC. The wedding itself took place at the Citadel with the reception being held at the Mills House in the beautiful historical district of Charleston. The wedding event was planned to absolute perfection by the by the very talented Melissa Barton. Chad, Caroline and their families were wonderful to work with. Thank you guys for making our day so special.

We will be posting again about this wedding in a couple of weeks. Hopefully by then we will have some Super 8 film for you to see!!!!!

Downtown Salisbury

F
or sentimental reasons, March is my most favorite month. It is the month I married my first and only wife Karen, and it is the month both of our children were born. Karen, as many of you know is a wonderful person...full of life and so bubbly. She is a wonderful wife too. She is satisfied with just simple things....a warm cup of coffee, a hike in the woods, a glass of wine, a skein of yarn, time with the family and, yeah, me. Yesterday was our anniversary and all she wanted for all the years of putting up with me was to go to Salisbury to look at antiques. We had a great time as we always do when we get a little time to ourselves. We found the perfect cup and saucer to purchase, adding to Karen's collection and then had lunch at one of our favorite places.....Sidewalk Deli

Greensboro Newborn Photography- Spencer

T
he response to our "March Madness" promotional for family sessions has been great and we recently had the pleasure of meeting the Bordens at their home in Greensboro for a portrait session. James and Emily are new parents to a bright-eyed baby boy, Spencer. Thanks James and Emily for the honor of photographing this new little blessing in your lives. We look forward to watching Spencer grow through our lens.

Lindsey

H
i....over here...a little further...little further...YES, here I am. You found me. Welcome to my little piece of real estate at AutumnSongPhotography.com. I can't wait for you to know how thrilled I am for you to be here and how excited I am to be working with Autumn Song. If you are thinking I look a little like peanut butter and jelly, then you are exactly right. I like to think of myself as their best creation yet--a title I should probably share with my brother? Nah.

All joking aside, I'm Lindsey and I started Black Daffodil Films. I work exclusively with Autumn Song to combine still photography with 8 mm film. The result is soulful wedding and event cinematography. I am a hopeless romantic with a heart for the vintage, stylish, original and YES--imperfect. I find imperfection refreshing and romantic. After all, isn't it those little imperfections that make life so much fun?

If you aren't familar with Super 8 film, please stop by my website and look around. I think you'll find the film quite moody, soulful and unique. And, I think you might just fall in love!
