08.21.12Weddings NC Wedding Photography { Emily and Trent}

Where do I start with these two.... Emily has to be one of my favorite people on the planet. She has a sweetness that just permeates her entire being and is so obvious to those she comes in contact with (just ask my little Layla--she was smitten with Emily from the first day she met her). And then there's Trent. Trent is funny...outgoing and loves the Lord. And the thing I like most about him is that he likes Emily much more than he likes himself (and that's rare to see these days). I was so excited that we had the opportunity to photograph their wedding day. It was so beautiful to watch a couple enter into the covenantal bond of marriage knowing that it is a reflection of Christ's bond with His Bride, the Church...knowing that they would hold the other higher than themselves. Emily and Trent...you guys are beautiful from the inside out. I am grateful for your friendship and so very thankful for your relationship with each other. It is my prayer that He continues to equip you to do His work, to run the race side by side...that your relationship brings glory and honor to His name... Congratulations guys! We love y'all!

08.19.12Personal Treasures From Above

S ometimes it seems that life's greatest treasures just fall from the sky. We work and work and work and just can't seem to get anywhere. Then, when we are on the verge of utter discouragement, God sends a little blessing to let us know he still watches and cares for us. Karen and I were driving home from my Mike and Sharon's house last evening and just as we were pulling in the driveway this little fellow jumped out of a tree and landed softly on the hood of our car. I slowly pulled into the garage, went inside and got a camera. I placed my friend in a tree at the edge of the driveway. He began to put on a show while I snapped a few photos. It didn't last long but once again I was reminded that there is amazing beauty all around us, and though I may not be rich by worldly standards, I'm comforted to know that the best things in life are truly free.

A ddison and Stephen are such an amazing and fun couple...remember their little engagement session we did at the county fair last fall? We have been looking forward to their wedding day ever since! So that day finally came a few weekends ago. Addison was stunning and Stephen was the perfect gentleman. They had such a beautiful wedding day....and were surrounded by so many people who know them well and love them dearly. I feel pretty certain that they'll have all the support they need as they start their new adventure together as husband and wife. Congratulations you two! You guys have such wonderful families...thank you so much for inviting us into your wedding day! Lindsey

08.10.12Weddings NC Wedding Photography { Amanda and Dusty }

A mand and Dusty were married a few weekends ago in beautiful Yadkinville, NC--otherwise known as NC wine country. Amanda and her family did all of the reception decor on their own--which was phenomenal and impressive and beautiful all at the same time! But this also meant that everything on the day of the wedding came down to the wire--including the arrival of Amanda's father at the church (he arrived 2 minutes before the start of the ceremony!). I have never seen a bride quite as calm as Amanda....most brides would have lost their marbles after late starts, lost flowers, a tiny tear in the dress and a father who was MIA up until the start of the wedding. BUT not Amanda....I think she kept her beautiful smile all.day.long! She was poised and elegant...and her wedding day was flawless! Congratulations Amanda and Dusty! Thank you for having us along for the ride....

08.02.12Weddings NC Wedding Photography { Janette and Chad }

J anette and Chad were married a few weekends ago at Childress Vineyards. They are both from New York, but have family in Lexington, NC. We were excited they decided to come down for a visit...get married...try out some local fare AND that they choose us to document their day! As a side note, I was also pretty excited to meet someone who lives AND works in Manhattan!! I could have asked a billion and one questions about their life-but I refrained. (Yes--I am a small town girl and who is incredibly intrigued by those who aren't.) Just as the two of them started saying their vows, the rain settled in. What started out as a few small sprinkles of rain quickly turned into a downpour. I loved watching the guests grab their umbrellas, purses and loved ones as they ran up to the gazebo to finish the ceremony. Jeanette and Chad said their vows with out microphones, without their bridesmaids and groomsmen lined up perfectly and without their guests sitting in nice little rows. It was probably one of the most memorable and romantic little weddings I've seen in a while! Congratulations Janette and Chad, you guys weathered a rain storm on your wedding day! And, according to the old wives tale, you guys are heading for a life of sunshine and roses from here! ~Lindsey
