NC Senior Photography - MacKenzie's Book

A
few weeks ago, we did a senior session with Mackenzie. As part of their package they order a senior book. It pleases me when people order prints and books ... not because it's profitable but because there's real value in printed materials.
It's refreshing to know that there are still people that appreciate the long term value of a properly and professionally printed photograph. No one honestly knows how long cd's and dvd's will last and even if they last for years it's certain that technology will change then you will find yourself converting them to the latest storage devices. No matter how technology changes, with proper care, you can always go to the book shelf and pull out a book and look at the photos. I still have photographs of my great-grandparents that are in excellent shape in fact, "photoshop experts" are trying their best to create actions to make modern photos look like them! Hey... I'm not knocking cd's, I think they're great but an image viewed on a computer screen just doesn't have the soul as that of a beautiful print ... "Just sayin"

Here is the layout of the book Mackenzie ordered.

NC Wedding Photography ~ Candice & Jordan

I
really enjoy outdoor weddings but on a day like this past Saturday, when the temps are in the mid 90's, there's nothing better than working in a nice cool facility. Lindsey and I worked mostly inside, photographing things as they naturally happened. When the ceremony ended and the evening shadows began to lengthen we were able to move outside for a bit. Jordan and Candice were wonderful to photograph and their wedding was simply beautiful. When the festivities ended and the newlyweds left the premises, Lindsey and I sat in the car and opened an orange Gatorade. It was so good... I had a double!

Elizabeth, Matt, and Jackson - Maternity Session

W
hat a wonderful privilege it is to photograph the wedding of two people in love. Greater still is when they come back a few years later, still in love and expecting their first child. Matt and Elizabeth... congratulations and may this new addition to your family fill your hearts with joy and wonder for the rest of your lives!

NDHS Softball Champs

C
ongratulations to the the Lady Knights softball team from North Davidson for winning the state championship 4A softball tournament held in Raleigh, NC this past weekend! It's not an easy task, winning a state championship; it takes years and years of preparation. Many of the girls have played together since they were seven years old ... dreaming of a day when they would finally wear a ND Black Knight uniform. Coaches have spent hours upon hours sitting at softball clinics learning from the best how to give these kids the tools needed to compete on such a high level. Volunteers from the community have given their precious time and resources to insure the program has all that is necessary... coming from their jobs and meeting at the ball field to put up a new backstop or erect a viewing platform in center field. Others, that are not quite as handy at building, bring cookies or pastries to sweeten everyone up... folks working together with one common interest... "the kids". You really can't say enough about a community that works together like this. Step back and give yourselves a big hand!

With all that's going on around girls softball, there has to be some leadership somewhere. Someone to rally the troops, someone who sees the big picture, that never ever gives up, that takes the lumps and keeps on fightin'. That someone is my bru-in-law, Coach Lambros. I can't write this article without saying how proud I am of him, and, although I know he doesn't like the spotlight on him, he's just going to have to suck it up a minute. I know what the girls mean to him and I know how much it hurts when he sees them do less than their best. He makes being a leader look so easy that you almost wonder if he really knows the depth of the impact he has on those around him.

What makes a good leader? Take a shepherd for example. He lives with his sheep day and night sleeping with the herd through the heat and the rain. He never leaves them no matter what happens. He smells like his sheep and that's why they follow. It's not because they are afraid of his staff, it's because they are secure in his presence and that he doesn't live above them but with them.
A lot of folks look at bru-in-law and see him as someone who teaches young people to hit and catch a ball, but those of us who know him best know that it goes much deeper than that. Beyond all the teaching and coaching he sees a young person's full of potential. He feels responsible to prepare her for a game of softball because that's his job but, in his heart it's his mission to prepare her for the game of life.

"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off...
the right pitch will come, when it does be prepared to run the bases."

High Point Senior Photography - MacKenzie

A
fter shooting a few weddings back to back, it was nice to get a little break and do a senior session. I like doing seniors especially this time of year. School is almost out and you can see the excitement all over their faces and it brings back lots of great memories for me too. Although I consider this time in my life to be the best, it would still be great to go back and spend maybe two or three days as a high school senior once again. It was fun spending the afternoon with MacKenzie. She loves photography and wants to continue her education and eventually work in graphic design and photography.
