NC Portrait Photography - Reilly

“How did it get so late so soon? It's night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flown. How did it get so late so soon?”
~Dr. Seuss~

We often hear parents ask, "Where did the time go?" especially during senior sessions. As a parent, it seems that you turn around one day and they are grown.

We recently did a senior session with a fine young man, Reilly. When a comment was made to his mom about how Reilly has grown up and where did the time go, she responded by saying, "I blinked!"

Reilly is a senior at High Point Central and has plans to attend either UNC-Chapel Hill or Brown University. He enjoys music, sports, and art & design. One of his interests is ping pong. He really enjoys it and, in fact, organized a ping pong club. Reilly also founded the Bisongs Acappella Group at school ... he is definitely an organizer by nature ... give him a project or an idea and he will have it organized and off and going just like that!

We wish Reilly all the best and know that the future holds great things for such an interesting and talented young man.

Greensboro Baby Photography - "Sam I Am"

W
e've known Terri and Perry for a long time; Terri's been our accountant for years. She has such a sweet spirit and is always concerned about what's going on in our lives ... even things that don't pertain to finances. She's easy to talk to and we've had many conversations about our dreams, our children, and our grandchildren. Perry is a man's man ... the kind of guy you can count on for anything! He's a hard worker and a big, strong man with a huge heart.

Together, they are going to be awesome grandparents ... well heck, I wish I could be their grandchild! Several weeks ago, their dreams were realized when their son and daughter in-law gave them their first grandchild, Sam.

We had the wonderful opportunity to do a short session with little Sam. As I was working with him I couldn't help but think what a great future he has ahead. Terri and Perry ... you are special to me and I pray for you a long and happy life filled with memories of each other and time spent with grandchildren!

NC Portrait Photography - Tyler & Bryson

T
yler and Bryson are planning an outdoor wedding in May 2010. They wanted to do their engagement session before fall to capture the essence of summer so we did their session this past weekend. I'm glad we did, fall is here and some of the leaves are already beginning to change colors. By the way, fall is my favorite time of year!

The engagement session was a blast. I've known Tyler for a long time and, in fact, I did her senior session several years ago. We made our rounds through Old Salem and came away with some pretty doggone good photos. With a bridal portrait session and a wedding still to come, the fun has just begun! Tyler and Bryson, I hope you enjoy the photos and look forward to seeing you guys soon.

And The Winner is ...

T
his past "you name it contest" proved to be a good one! We enjoyed reading all the comments and hope you did too. Maybe we should give two prizes ... one for the correct answer AND one for the most creative 'cause we have gotten some good ones for the last two contests! Hummmm, we will have to think about that one! Thanks for your participation.

So, the winner is:

Chasity Evans

HOORAY! CONGRATUALTIONS!

Chasity's guess, a swallowtail butterfly.

The photo is of a tiger swallowtail butterfly. Check out the photo below.

(By the way, the artist who took this beautiful photo was me ... NOT ... it was, the one and only, Rodney B. Slate!)

Next contest coming up the third Thursday of October so stay tuned.

NC Portrait Photography - Conner

S
tyles come and go, phrases and gestures change with the times. Beneath the tatoos and loose fitting clothes, young people are still the same as always. They love life and enjoy spending time with their friends. They never turn down a good meal and for the most part are always running a little behind. Their struggles also remain the same ... how to find their own identity and yet remain a part of the crowd. I love the opportunity to photograph seniors, I always come away from the session feeling a little younger myself. It's great to know our future is in the hands of such amazing people!

My session with Conner left me feeling that way. He's a fantastic young man with a bright future ahead. Conner, thanks for letting me get to know you and best wishes to you!
