NC Engagement Photography {Amy and Penn}

P
enn and Amy both went to UNC Chapel HIll (Go Heels!) and share some very special memories together around the school and in the beautiful little town of Chapel Hill. So it only made sense for us to do their engagement session in the place they really fell in love.

They took me all around campus...to the places they lived and the places that were special to them. We paid a visit to Time Out and even had a chicken and cheese biscuit. AND though I've been on campus quite often, Amy even shared with me some insights about it that I had never heard. Apparently there was a building on campus that read "University of North Carolina". Well, the inscription on the building was changed for the filming of Patch Adams (one of my favorite all time movies!) to "University of Virginia". How cool is that? Hollywood didn't miss that little detail, huh?

So I thought it fitting to end with one of my favorite quotes from the movie "Patch Adams"....

" I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly without complexities or pride. I love you because I know no other way than this. So close that your hand, on my chest, is my hand. So close, that when you close your eyes, I fall asleep. " Hunter Patch Adams

NC Engagement Photography ~ Addison + Stephen

W
e had the privilege of getting to know Addison and Stephen a few weeks ago. There is such a sweetness about those two. It was apparent from our first introduction that Stephen was/is a gentleman. I liked the way he listened to Addison while she talked about their wedding day...I liked the way he kept his hand on the small of her back...I liked the way he let her fix his collar. And Addison is quite the lady--she has the most contagious and genuine smile and gentle voice.

So, when we decided to do their engagement session at the fair--I knew it would be dripping with sweetness. I could go on and on about how much fun we had...but I'll just let the photos speak for themselves.

Enjoy...

Styled Engagement Shoot-Adaumont

S
everal months ago, we had the pleasure of working with Rebecca Rose Events to photograph a styled engagement shoot out at Adaumont Farm. Its always so refreshing to photograph a couple who wears their heart on their sleeve...combine that with great styling and the beautiful back drop of Adaumont and voila...PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY!

(Make sure you keep scrolling down to catch the amazing film done by Alexis and Kenny with Princess Bride Films!)

AH! You can thank Princess Bride Films for this beautiful film. What a nice way to capture an engagement session. We were sold after the first few seconds! And what's best? Its all captured on cinematic 16 mm film---love!

Engagement Session: Sarah and Michael

S
arah and Michael have the sweetest engagement story! Sarah's father, Wayne, started Sterling Events Group--you know, the group responsible for the amazing renovations at WinMock. Needless to say, WinMock has had such a special place in Sarah's heart as she's watched it change from a rundown barn to a beautiful event space.

Several months ago, while renovations were still going on at WinMock, Michael whisked Sarah away to the loft. Amongst the rubble of construction, in the place that Sarah and her family love, Michael proposed. I know ladies, it made me feel a little overcome with the giddiness of romance.

So go ahead and enjoy their sweet engagement photos while we start marking down the days until we get to see her all dressed in white at WinMock!

Engagement Session-Allison and Drew: A Love Story

D
uring one of the hottest weeks of the year, I thought it would be a great idea to drive down to the foothills of South Carolina to one of my favorite cities...Greenville. It was in Greenville that I met up with Allison and Drew. Drew works as an assistant superintendent at the golf course out at The Cliffs at Glassy--and it was at that very place that Drew proposed to Allison. So, it only made sense to do their engagement photos there.

As I entered through the gates of this picturesque golfing community, I started to get super excited about our shoot. Not only did Allison and Drew have a lot of romance tied up in this place, it just happened to provide one of the most beautiful settings to photograph a love story.
